Tyner High School 1967 Class
Tyner Class of 1967 - 50th Reunion
Classmates, Save the Dates: June 16-17, 2017
About January 2017 your reunion committee will mail & email registration material for our upcoming and exciting 50th reunion.
Friday evening, June 16, 2017, we'll gather for a casual affair at the Hullander Farm in Apison, Tn. The Hullanders built a very nice event venue for hosting musical events and dinner parties. Initial plans are to have a BBQ dinner and perhaps a bluegrass band to entertain. There will be no alcohol served or consumed on these premises!!
Saturday evening, June 17, 2017, we'll enjoy "The Car Barn" an unique facility tastefully decorated with antiques. An outstanding lounge is located on the 2nd floor. We will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and have time to catch up with our high-school friends, dance and other activities. Cash bar.
An initial questionnaire was emailed to all classmates with email and we're excitied to announce that over 120 (including spouses and guests) intend to attend the above events. Your reunion committee very much wants everyone to be there.
We graduated Tyner High School in 1967, a class of approximately 250 souls. As that was 49 years ago, we celebrated our 40th reunion in 2007. In 2009, we had a "Turning 60" birthday party at Chester Frost Park in Hixson, Tn. A great turn-out was enjoyed at both events.
At our 2012 reunion, it was wonderful to see so many fellow classmates whom we hadn't seen at prior events. Although in many cases a given old friend wasn't quickly recognized, after a brief period in conversation the years seemed to melt away. A few classmates have kept their youthful look and many of us have lost lots of hair. Sadly, several have serious health issues.
From our graduating class, we have a number of various professions including three attorneys and three doctors. A number were and still are educators. Many classmates are retired although most of those are still working. About 36 are deceased and about 3 are "lost" as we've been unable to find them. Our fellow grads reside all about the USA: Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Virginia, Illinois, California, Carolinas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Washington State, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.
From a personal standpoint, I look back to my Tyner days and the friends I developed with deep fondness. My involvement on the reunion committee since 1997 has allowed me to become close friends with each of the committee members and other classmates once again. And thanks to the wonders of computers and email, we have the ability to build a site like this and have current data at our fingertips. I invite each of my 1967 Tyner mates to participate in this web site and provide data for all to share.
