New from Pro-Ject Audio Systems: not a new turntable but a new version of a relatively new turntable model.
The Debut Pro – that we reviewed a year ago – is soon to be made available in an all-white version. Originally introduced to mark the Austrian manufacturer’s 30th anniversary, the Debut Pro All White edition brings to the (cough) ‘table the same features as the all-black original. That means an 8.6″ one-piece aluminium tonearm with fully adjustable VTA mounted to a satin-painted MDF plinth that in turn sits on height-adjustable metal feet.
The All White edition, however, sports a different factory-fitted cartridge to the original. In the UK at least, the Ortofon 2M Red has been swapped out for the Danish cartridge company’s 2M White. We don’t yet know how this affects other territories: the EU version of the Debut Pro that we reviewed in 2021 came factory-fitted with a PickIt Pro cartridge (also made by Ortofon).
Now comes the Fomo-Fi. Pro-Ject’s All White Debut Pro is set to be a limited edition (albeit of an unspecified number) when it goes on sale in December for โฌ799 / ยฃ799. We think this would make a neat addition to our recent all-white kick-ass $1500 Future-Fi system.
